Elisa Bartolucci has started a 5-month research internship at the Center for Digital Medicine and Robotics. She is a student at the University of Bologna. Her project focuses on developing and testing computational tools for cardiac electrophysiology, with particular attention to the double-layer model.
Elisa works with 3D anatomical meshes extracted from CT scans, performs cardiac electrical activity simulations in MATLAB, and compares the results with clinical CARTO mapping data. Her tasks include anatomical mesh generation, simulation of transmembrane potentials, analysis of EGMs and ECGs, integration of clinical mapping data, and model validation using metrics such as correlation and RMSE.
The internship will result in a validated MATLAB-based computational pipeline for comparing double-layer model simulations with clinical electrograms, supported by advanced visualization tools.
