Advanced Medical Education in Extended Reality (edu-XR)

The project "Advanced Medical Education in Extended Reality (edu-XR)" received funding in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education's "Science for Society" competition. The initiative aims to create a training and certification platform for doctors, medical students, and other medical professionals in the use of XR (extended reality) technology in medicine.

The platform will include courses on 3D organ segmentation, advanced 3D medical imaging, and the practical application of XR technologies in various medical fields. The project aims to improve digital and practical skills in this area, as well as support innovation and commercialization of research and development results in the field of XR technologies in medicine.

The project is implemented by the Center for Digital Medicine and Robotics of the Jagiellonian University Medical College and will last until December 18, 2026.

Expected benefits:

  • Facilitating the commercialization of the results of scientific research and development work.
  • Expanding the possibilities of applying XR technology in medicine.
  • Improving the quality of medical education.
  • Strengthening Poland's position in the field of medicine and XR technology.

The project is funded by the state budget, allocated by the Minister of Science and Higher Education (formerly the Minister of Education and Science) under the "Science for Society II" Program.
